“Relax,” he purred. Boone slowed to long, measured strokes as King worked her until she relaxed, then he removed his finger and replaced it with something much larger. The pressure was intense for a moment, but King moved slowly, letting her adjust to his size, and Boone gently rocked against her, enough for a distraction but not enough to disrupt her acclimation. And then they both started to move, taking turns pulling out and pushing back in, and Ro cried out in pleasure.

Slowly, they gained speed, letting her grow more and more attuned to them as they bit and licked her skin, took turns taking her lips to capture her screams, and rolled her nipples between their fingers. Ro held on for dear life as they started pumping inside her desperately, and another orgasm slammed into her so hard no one could catch the cry that broke free, but she didn’t care, because neither man stopped. They kept pumping harder and harder inside her, their deep growls filling the silence as they both grew closer.

“You may leave,” Boone growled suddenly. “You may leave us in Embertown, but only as long as you come back.” He made his point with a sharp thrust.

“When you’re out in the desert,” King added, “you won’t be able to think of anything but us, remembering the pleasure, the strength. We’re yours, Rowena, just as you’re ours.”

  “Yes,” she cried out. “Fuck.”

Nothing could have prepared her for the violence her words seemed to have caused, the literal claiming as both Rexes clamped down on opposite shoulders, hard enough to draw pinpricks of blood but not hard enough to harm her. Ro shattered in their arms as they both snarled and followed her over the edge, their rhythms stuttering as they pumped their seed inside her, before slowing gently, until they stood with Ro sandwiched between them, panting hard.

“Fucking hell,” Boone swore, his words broken up by deep breathing. “I don’t think my heart can handle your fantasies, troublemaker.”

Ro chuckled between her breaths and dropped her forehead to his chest, letting the two Rexes hold her. King slipped out and gently lifted her from Boone, then cradled her against his chest.

“You said you’d come back,” he whispered, searching her eyes.

“I did.” She smiled and cupped his face. “I might come back and try to rob you again, but I’ll be back.”

King growled even as Boone laughed. “I think you like us punishing you,” King purred. “Next time you try to rob my bank, I’ll make sure the sheriff shows up as long as you show up alone.”

  Ro laughed. “It’s a deal.”

No one moved for hours, just sitting inside a jail cell naked, cuddled together. Eventually, the temperature dropped with nightfall, and Boone let them out and carefully helped her dress. They were both so attentive, helping to clean up the signs of their lovemaking, and making sure all her buttons were fastened before they strode out of the jail together. Clem stood across the street, talking to Dolly, and when she saw Ro and the Rexes leave the jail, she winked.

Ro grinned and let Boone and King lead her away for now, the two Rexes and their robber.

Now, if Ro could only figure out how to get inside that vault.

“Are you sure this is a good idea?” Clem asked. “We could just stay.”

“We’ll be back,” she said, turning around where her and Clem rode on Theo’s back as they walked off into the desert.

Over half of the Free Outlaws had decided to stay, but surprisingly, Theo, Delilah, and her daughter, had decided to go with them with the promise that they would return. Ro had plans of coming back as quickly as possible, and Delilah seemed the perfect woman to pass the mantel of the Free Outlaws to. She’d stayed strong and the fire she’d stifled her entire life now burned brightly in her eyes. Ro would teach her all she knew, make sure she understood that there was a home in Embertown if she wanted, and then she would come back home. Too many of her crew still needed to find their way, to figure out what they wanted to do. Ro found her future. It was time for the rest to find theirs.

Boone and King stood in the front with the rest of the town behind them waving them off. The sun was setting, but they didn’t plan to go far into the desert before setting up camp. King had his hands in his pockets, as if he didn’t have a care in the world, but Ro could see the tension in his shoulders as he fought against his instincts to run after her. Boone stood as still as a statue, his jaw clenched so hard she thought he might break it.

“Stop for a second, Theo.” Theo did as she asked, and she leaped from the Triceratops’ back to run into the arms of her Rexes. They enveloped her in a warm hug, holding on as long as she’d let them. “I’ll be back,” she vowed, “quicker than y’all can start another war.” King snorted and Boone grimaced. “Try not to kill each other while I’m gone, would ya?”

“No promises,” Boone growled, and she laughed. Finally, she stepped back, looking up into their eyes.

Ro winked and tipped her new purple hat at them. King had made sure not to give her a red one, but he kept the nickname. He’d used his logic to say that her bandana was red, so he could use the name. He’d tried calling her “Violet,” but it hadn’t held the same ring.

Stepping back one more time, Ro jogged over to Theo and climbed back up with Clem. Her friend was healed, but she wasn’t taking any chances letting her carry a load, so she was designated to ride with Ro until they made camp.

The sun set as they rode out of town, as Ro looked back every so often to see her men standing in the dying light, watching her go.

“Did you see the paper?” Clem asked, and Ro nodded. She’d brought one with her to save. “I thought you might’ve.”

Turning toward the sinking sun, Ro grinned, and for the first time in seven years, she felt free of the cage she’d been thrust into. She couldn’t wait to finish her business and come back to Embertown, back to her Rexes. Smiling, she pulled out the newspaper and read the headline again, branding it to her memory as they rode off into the sunset.
